Funeral and memorial ceremonies

Whether the ceremony is at a crematorium, cemetery, natural burial ground or another meaningful venue in Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire or Northamptonshire, we will begin with a gentle, unhurried conversation. You can share memories, stories and the details that made your loved one unique, without needing to have everything decided. I can help shape the order of service and suggest suitable readings, music, moments of reflection and symbolic elements. If you are considering a more uplifting approach, a Celebration of Life ceremony can bring together colour, favourite music and meaningful personal touches.

I will carefully write the tribute and ceremony, then share the draft with you. You can correct details, add memories or ask for changes until the words feel right. On the day, I will lead the ceremony with warmth, calmness and sensitivity, giving you and your family space to be present.

A Ceremony That Reflects Your Beliefs

Your service can be religious, non-religious, or a thoughtful blend of both. It may include hymns, prayers, poems, readings, music, and contributions from family or friends. I can also create Military-Focused Ceremonies that recognise service, pride and sacrifice with appropriate dignity, or help you plan a Living Ceremony so treasured words and memories can be shared during a person’s lifetime.

Crematorium ceremonies often last between 20 and 45 minutes, although the timing and format will depend on the venue and your wishes. I will liaise with your chosen funeral director and venue across the three counties, take care of the practical details and ensure each element fits naturally into the time available. This local, personal approach helps the ceremony feel calm, well prepared and centred on your family.

Fees and What Is Included

My fee will be clearly agreed with you before we begin. It will usually cover our consultation, preparation and writing of the tribute and ceremony, an agreed number of revisions, liaison with your funeral director, and leading the service on the day. Travel within my usual service area across Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire can be discussed when you enquire. Longer journeys, extra meetings, rehearsals, printed materials, or unusual additional requests may incur extra costs, but I will always explain and agree these with you in advance. Every family’s circumstances are different, so please feel comfortable speaking to me about your needs and budget.
